Brought to you by a mother-daughter duo, whose shared passion for design has lead them to the foundation of MENDELAWI.

Shaina Kohn is the CEO and Design Lead of the brand. Growing up in the New York metro area she was exposed to the fashion industry at an early age. Shaina’s fascination with fashion inspired her to pursue a degree in Fashion Design & Entrepreneurship. Her appreciation for couture fashion led her to the start of her career in Paris, where she worked on the textiles used by the couture houses. Upon her return to New York, Shaina expanded her interest in luxury fashion and joined the fine jewelry industry. After several years she became re-inspired by the luxurious lifestyles seen around the world and reverted back to her initial love designing evening-wear and establishing MENDELAWI.

Cindy Mendelaw, Shaina’s mother, serves as the President and CFO of MENDELAWI. With a strong background in design and product development she has always had a creative drive herself. Cindy’s long career in sales has made her the business savvy key to all MENDELAWI operations. It is her mutual love and eye for fabrics that make her and Shaina the perfect team.
